Bring your kids to the Missouri History Museum for the Winter Getaway for free activities, family films and music just for kids.
December 28: Winter Traditions. Celebrate the season and learn about different cultures' winter traditions. Make snow globe crafts and see a World's Fair Nutcracker dance performance by Ballet 314. Enjoy episode clips of the popular Nine PBS television series Molly of Denali, Alma's Way and others while you explore artifacts and touch tables to learn about winter traditions.
December 29: Concerts and Crafting. Families are invited to a fun and relaxing day full of music by the local band Fanfare. Tune in for interesting takes on common winter songs and learn some music history. Before you leave, snap a selfie at the winter photo op and make crafts as a family.
Admission is free, and early arrival is recommended.
Winter Getaway at the Missouri History Museum is December 28, and 29 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day. There will be a Noon Year's Eve party on Dec. 31

The annual Celebration of Lights in Fort Zumwalt Park in O'Fallon, Mo., has been a holiday tradition since 1991.
