The Butterfly House reopens its doors to the public with a special Mardi Gras-themed celebration the whole family can enjoy.
Bugs, Rhythm, and Blues is happening this January 27-28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is a unique, family-friendly celebration of St. Louis’ love for Mardi Gras, blues music, and the vibrant blue morpho butterflies.
Throughout the day guests can warm up inside the Tropical Conservatory, where over a thousand blue morpho butterflies have recently joined the hundreds of other butterflies in flight, while enjoying live performances from local blues musicians.
Younger guests can enjoy Mardi-Gras-themed crafts, a musical petting zoo from the National Blues Museum and the chance to take their photo with the Frog Princess. For guests 21 and older, 4 Hands Brewing Company and 1220 Spirits are offering drink tastings – including their Blue Morpho gin.
This celebration is included with general admission to the Butterfly House.
Bugs, Rhythm, and Blues is part of Morpho Mardi Gras – a seasonal celebration that is happening at the Butterfly House through Tuesday, February 13. Learn more at butterflyhouse.org.
